Sowing the seeds of sustainable living 

Through repurposing food waste and cultivating the community garden together, Tiong Bahru residents have steadily warmed up to the idea of food waste upcycling and community gardening as a sustainable way of life. Despite the challenges of nurturing crops in unpredictable weather conditions, there was concerted effort from the residents, alongside our First Penguin Volunteers, to faithfully garden and grow the vegetables. Not only have the seedlings sprouted and are flourishing, lasting friendships and connections have also blossomed along the way with the residents, enriching our sense of community.

We are immensely grateful for the dedication and passion shown by our First Penguin Volunteers and the positive uptake to the programme.
