Celebrating Community and Sustainable Living with Nee Soon Central Zone 3 Residents’ Network

6 Dec 2025
Our CEO, Ms Susan Teh greeted Ms Goh Hanyan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, at Holocene’s booth on how food waste is transformed into edible crops.

Where Neighbours Meet Sustainability

Holocene is delighted to be part of a vibrant community celebration in Nee Soon Central, where neighbours came together to connect, share, and celebrate the spirit of the neighbourhood.

As part of the event, our food waste booth invited residents to learn more about how everyday food scraps can be given a second life. Through a live demonstration on how to use compost derived from food waste, participants gained a hands-on understanding of how waste can be transformed into a valuable resource that supports greener living.

Growing Greener Together

Beyond the activities, what stood out most was the strong sense of community. Amid the laughter of children and conversations among neighbours, the event became a space for shared learning, connection, and collective action toward a more sustainable way of living. It was a meaningful reminder that sustainability is most impactful when it is rooted in collective action.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared the moment with us. Together, we continue closing the food waste resource loop, one community at a time.
