Seed germination is not just about planting; it’s about nurturing life sustainably.
Did you know? Seeds that sink when placed in water indicate that they are fresh.
This was just one of the many insightful tips shared during our workshop covering the fundamental principles of seed germination – a topic of interest amongst the Tiong Bahru residents. Each seed, seemingly small, had the dormant potential waiting to burst forth when planted in the right conditions.
Through the interactive hands-on demonstration, participants learned about the critical factors influencing germination: moisture, temperature, and sunlight. Fun fact: some vegetable seeds require you to make a small slit on them before a sprout is able to grow and burst forth!
Appreciating the practical handles of community gardening, not only nurtures each individual participant’s growth as a gardener but also strengthens our community’s bond with sustainable practices. One seed at a time, we look forward to witnessing our community residents take meaningful steps on their path toward a more sustainable future.
